I discovered that there is a form of exercise for everyone to like, as long as you stay true to yourself on what you really like to do.
I had long given up that I would ever get a mental and physical boost from sports. Yet it didn’t sit right to me, that my relationship with sports and exercise was so bad while as a person I am always full of energy. In addition, I’m aware of the fact that exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, so it did not feel right to do nothing at all.
After a google search for 'personal trainer Rotterdam' I found Meyken. What immediately appealed to me in her approach was the focus on behavior and the underlying motivations for not exercising.
Meyken was the first personal coach who didn't workout with me, but talked to me. During our consults I discovered that there is a form of exercise or sport for everyone to like, as long as you stay true to yourself on what you really like to do. For me the answer was dancing. Just at home, with music that suits my mood and movements that arise spontaneously and naturally.
I learned with support from Meyken that dancing is a fully-fledged type of exercise and that I can exercise 3 times a week without much effort. A fantastic result. I now mix dancing with walking outdoors as my favorite sport and I feel much better both mentally and physically.
